Moonshot was contracted by Facebook to evaluate the performance of their Search Redirect program in the U.S. and Australia and make recommendations for future deployments. Search Redirect was designed to combat violent extremism and dangerous organizations by redirecting users who have entered hate or violence-related search queries towards educational resources and outreach groups. We evaluated the pilot in the United States and Australia and have since worked with Facebook to expand the program to other geographies such as Indonesia and Germany

We enable governments to understand threats to the public and protect the most vulnerable.

From August 2018 to September 2019, Moonshot delivered a project in partnership with Mythos Labs for the U.S. Department of State. We worked together to create, test and build capacity for comedic CVE content in Malaysia. Moonshot tested the content via a Redirect Method™ campaign, targeting audiences at-risk of violent Salafi-Jihadist extremism.

Moonshot partnered with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) to analyze U.S. search traffic in response to the threats posed by white supremacist narratives and ideology in the U.S. In a seven-month period, Moonshot recorded 511,759 white supremacist searches across the United States and identified important trends that gave a fuller picture of the threats posed to at-risk audiences by this online community.
